My Grandfather's 1922 Prize Book

The following book is a family treasure. It is a book prize that belongs to my Grandfather Mr Soh Wah Seng from Outram Road School. Unlike our current Singapore MOE system of rewarding academic students monetary awards, in olden days they were told to go library to choose from a selection of books for the prize.

Fifty-Two Stories of Wild Life East and West is an anthology of short wildlife tales from around the world, blending natural history with engaging narratives drawn from both Eastern and Western environments. It was originally published in the early 20th century and reflects classic wildlife writing and storytelling of that era.

Older (1904) hardcover editions in used condition can sell for around US $30–40 from secondhand book sellers
