Lorong Tai Seng - Kong Kian Clinic - Lim Ban Lim - Nine Emperors

My early childhood began at Lorong Tai Seng till the age of 9 when all the residents were resettled into HDB flats in the 1970s–1980s as part of national urban housing policies.

I studied at Feng Shan Primary School. Each year during the nine lunar month the kampong would celebrate and honor the nine emperors at the Feng Shan temple which is just next to the school. We would be vegetarians for a month even though the streets were all be lined up with food and goodies.Till this very day, my family and kampong friends still pray at the temple. Everything has been cleared away from except the temple being gazetted and surrounded by Defu lane industrial park factories

I have borrowed this book from Dr Stephen Chee of Kong Kian Clinic who has been our family doctor since the kampong days. We still visit the clinic even after Dr Chee retires but stop when the clinic was acquired by a conglomerate
